Change tire sizes = bad?

If I changed my 225/50-17's on my '02 Max to 225/45-17 up front, and 245/40-17 in the rear, would I screw the car up? My brother has a set of these tires w/ virtually no miles on them and I'd happily use them as long as they wouldn't dork anything up.

nah, your speedo would just be a lil off. kinda strange to use different sizes in the front and rear, your front will sit slightly higher than the rear with those...

Wouldn't the front sit a tiny bit lower? The width being the same and the profile 5 % lower? 225/50 vs 225/45?

The diff widths are b/c these are coming off a rear wheel drive (3-series)

sorry, misread. thought you said 225/45 and 225/40. My bad, yes, you're right, the front will be a tad lower
