i think i remember someone saying that our lug pattern was 5 x 114....not sure but would a 5 x 100 fit? thnaks guys!

No, 114.3 is the measurement between opposite lugs from center of one to either inside, or outside of the other, can't remember off the top of my head, a four bolt pattern is the lug directly across the hub. 5 bolt pattern is the either of the two holes that are furthest away somewhat across the hub. The holes would be too close together. 14mm too close.

I am looking to replace my 15 inch rims with new ones. However, I have two questions. What is the standard weight of the stock 15 inch rims on the 97 maximas? I want to stick with a 15 inch rim, should I purchase replacements of the same weight, lighter or heavier?

If you're referring to the saw blades, I believe, if I remember right, they are 16.5 lbs. As far as new ones, the lighter the better. However, that's usually going to mean higher prices. Most less expensive 'cast' rims are going to be heavier than the higher priced rims. Since you're looking to stay with 15's it shouldn't cost too much to stay about the same weight.
