Tire Question

Just wondering what tires(money no object) best suits our 17" stock wheels. When I say suits I mean best traction off the line since our cars have a sh!tty amount of torque steer. Sorry if this has been posted before but my search does not work. Thank you.

NT2SHBBY- I met one of your boy's, George on Saturday at Maximum Tuning. He was getting his y-pipe installed, I was getting my headers done. He had mentioned your name so I recognized it.

either tire will help with grip, but not torque steer homez.....

if you wanna alleviate torque steer, you're gonna need a LSD and/or PR motor mounts

Good to hear about the y-pipe. The Headers are great, Not loud at all bro, I'm sure you could deal with them. The only problem is my right foot has gotten significantly heavier since Saturday lol.

I like my Nitto 555 extremes in 245 45 17. I know this size isn't recommended for the 7" wide wheel but I have not had any issues. These tires are sticky, quiet and good in the rain. But, I hear they suck in the snow, so living in Jersey this might be an issue.

Falken 512s are a popular choice. Available @ Sears. Many consider them a cheap alternative to the Pilot Sport A/S.

I have the Falken 512's (aka "poor man's Pilot")...I love them, especially in the rain, and they are directional. They are similar to the pilots, just a tiny bit softer (even have similar tread pattern). I wanted the Pilot Sport A/S but could not justify spendin $200 a tire. The Falkens were about $110 each and I've had them for about 4 months now and they handled all the winter weather great!
If you have $800+ get the Pilots. If not, and you want an all-season tread, I suggest the Falkens (oh, and they come in stock size)...

Definately the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S!!!! It'll make you regret all that time you spent driving on those crappy Potenzas.

Advice: Find the ABSOLUTE cheapest price online and NTB will match it. check out www.discounttire.com then take that price to NTB and make them throw in the valve stems, road hazard and balancing. I got my full set for $800 installed.

They are great tires. They stick like glue, and they are awesome in the rain.
