Hubcentric rings fitment?
Hubcentric rings fitment?
Anybody using hub rings for their aftermarket rims? I just bought a nice set of aluminum rings from DiscountTireDirect, except the ring seems to be slightly bigger than the factory hub. Are they supposed to be this way, or does it have to fit snug around the hub. I know our Max's have a centerbore of 66.1 mm, of which I got a set within this value. On the ring, its stamped at 73 x 66.06. Now, the ring fits perfectly in my aftermarket rim, but when I put the ring up to the hub, it seemed like, a mm or so, too big. One thing to note, too, I didn't take the factory wheel off the car to check this. I just removed the center cap and aligned the ring around the hub with the factory wheel still on. I just wanted to check fitment in case I need to return the rings back and get a different value. Need I take the wheel off, and mount my aftermarket rim on just to see if it will work? Eventhough the stated value on the ring is slightly less than the factory value, should I go with a smaller value? Right now I'm confused. When I go to get these rims mounted, I don't want to run into trouble in ordering another set of rings because these are the wrong size. What size are you guys running for your factory centerbore value? Any fitment problems?
