i went to town fair tire next to my house to get a price on some 19"tires for my rims.
anyways the guy told me the widest i can go beacuse of my maxspeed drop is 215's and maybe 225's pushing it with a slight rub. I told him i want at least 235's and he wouldnt do it. what the hell, does this guy have a clue what hes talking about????

He doesn't have a clue what hes talking about. 19x?? Araffio just installed 19x8.5 with 245/35/19 rubber, and he is not rubbing.

he is definately clueless. 225/35 keeps the stock outer diameter, and nobody has ever had trouble with the width. this guy is saying its puhing it? there are a couple people on here running 245/35 on 20s with no problem. you probably got a better deal anyway.

Rubbing or not depends on the offset of your wheels also, not merely the width of tires. I bet if you have 30mm offset with 235/35/19, you'd still be rubbing with 8.5" wide wheels

very true. but the rims he has are fine. you must be a wheel/tire person too, because it sure does seem like every thread i look at, you're in there giving good advice too.
