Knowing the offset means nothing without knowing the width of the wheel you are looking at. +40 offset in a typical maxima sized wheel will work fine.

cool, thanks. The wheel size is 17" X 7" and the tire tread is 215/40/17. This should still work right?

Wheels will fit fine, no problem, but the tire size is too small for the maxima. Try getting 225/45/17.
