Anyone heard of Hankook Tires?

I got my subscription of Motortrend magazine for April. I noticed the ad towards to the last section of the magazine. It was raving a tire called Hankook. That it's performance tires, cheaper than known national brand tires and better tire wear. I was intrigue since in due time I am in for a new set of tires to replace my OEM tires. There's a website but it hasn't able to give me any info. www.hankooktireusa.com

They are good. I have a set of snow tires that I am selling. Used one season 7/32 tread left. $250+shipping or make me an offer. Reason I am selling, I got the car with them, but don't want to invest into second set of rims, so I just got all season ones.

There not like Wanli tires.

They aren't that popular in North America yet but they are pretty decent tires for the price. I have the Hankook K104's which are suppose to have dry traction almost as good as the Bridgestone KDW's or S03 Pole Positions. I've read a lot about them and the wear on them is better than Kumho's and wet traction is decent too.

Hankook also have contracts with many Korean and American automakers to supply oem tires for there cars.

If you're looking for bang for buck, Hankook's cool. They've begun making contracts with aftermarket tire shops (Discount Tire being one of the bigger ones). Discount Tire's got a huge reputation to uphold, so I'm sure they wouldn't skimp on tires.

2 of my autocrossing friends are on Hankooks, and they said they're similar to Kumho. The Kumho, as you already kno, are the winningest tires in autox nationals, taking the top 3 spots consistently.

My vote is to get them if they fit your criteria and budget. And report back to dispell comments such as Ammi's with no supporting information. There was another similar thread with posts with no backup info.

I also agree with Nathan that if Hankook is Korea's more popular tires and they are OEM there and here in US, they're probably alright.

True dat Hankook is made in Korea. They're not anywhere near Michelin and they're not the best quality tires, but you get what you paid for.
