Help picking out 18" tires PLEASE HELP!

GUys ,there is so many tire brands out there! I have no clue on which one to get. Next year I plan to go down close to the panhandle of Tx (Lubbock, Texas Tech) and I know they have a small ammount of snow. So maybe I need to keep that in mind when picking out tires? In houston there is no snow what so ever. I do know I dont wanna spend $106 a tire.. but rather a good brand thats suites me in handling. Any reply's would be great. Thanks for taking the time to read this! I owe you guys one!

If you don't want to spend $106 / tire, then quality tires are out of the equation. I don't even know if you can find 18" tires for less than $100 each. Maybe Wanlis, Visas or Hankooks or some other generic brand. Honestly, your best bet is to find a set of slightly-used 18" tires and buy them.

Since it seems like you are on a budget, brands / models I would recommend:

- Falken (Ziex 512s are very popular)
- Kumho (Ecsta Supra 712s are very popular)
- Sumitomo
- Nitto (NT 405 or 555 are popular)
- Yokohama (ES 100?)

Best bet is to browse this forum, and check out prices at www.tirerack.com and www.tires.com

Jesus, you bought a Maxima and you don't want to buy 18" tires that are more than $106 each? Why did you buy 18" wheels in the first place?

I've read great things about the Kumho MX. Check out the S2000 or BMW message boards. Those guys say they are nearly as good as the S02. I've never ridden on them personally, but I'm seriously considering them for my new 18's.

Agreed... the Sumitomo HTR+ is the best Ultra High Performance All-Season Tire you can buy for a low price... i had them on my 300ZX and they let me get through the snow and rain despite being RWD... go check 'em out on Tire Rack
