HELP!! Buying new tires, possibly wheels, need sizing and stuff

I know this is a lot to ask, but someone please take the time to share their knowledge, so I can get accurate information on the best setup for my car.

Im getting new tires soon, probably Michelin Pilot Sport A/Ss. Any comments? Anyone prefer something else?

Also, I may be getting new wheels with the tires, probably Enkei RPM2s. Comments? Suggestions?

Finally, I need sizing. I have a 2001 SE with stock wheels and tires. What sizes will I need, both if I get the Enkeis, or if I stay stock? I'm looking for 17" wheels, I'm not sure about the width. Any suggestions? I was thinking 17 x 7.5, but I know little to nothing about wheels, so any help is appreciated. Would 17 x 8 look better? Perform better? Would they rub? (Note: Performance takes priority over looks)

Thanks in advance!!!

Well, it all depends on the brands you choose, because they all have different weights to them. You definately want 8" wide wheels. If you go with 17's you should get a 235/45 or 50/17 sized tire. If you want a bigger wheel, say 18" one really good wheel to go with is the Enkei RPOJ-2 in an 18x8. They only weigh 19 lbs a piece, you get looks and performance in that package. You wont have any rubbing problems to worry about either until you get into extreme sizes.
