Quality of Motegi rims?
Quality of Motegi rims?
I've been looking for some 5 spoke rims for a while and saw these silver coated Motegi rims at a wheel/tire place. They're pretty cheap for 17" rims (under 400$ for the set). I'm not familiar with this brand - how's the quality? rusting? paint wearing off? etc.
A friend told me not to even consider them because I'll be embarassed to have the name seen on my car.

They are made by American Racing, and the fit/finish on them is very good. My wife has a set of Gunmetal 7-spoke MR-7 on her Celica, and they look good. With 30K on the rims, there is no rusting, paint fading, or other blemishes. I would recommend them highly. They have a nw style out that is a Volk knock-off that is pretty d@mn nice looking, if you ask me.

what wheel and tire place?
I think it goes by the name of Ray's Wheels or something. Just passed by out of town so I stopped in.
And yes I think the gunmetal ones look really good. I think if I can't find some mille miglia evo 5's for a good price I'm going back there to take a closer look at motegi.
