350z wheels are made for rwd. With that being said, the offset is completely incorrect for Maxima (fwd) and so are the tiresize that comes with the 350z wheels. One can safely interchange 350z wheels with g35c but not recommended for Maxima use.

Actually, I beg to differ in that the offset is completely incorrect for the maxima....at least the 3rd gen. The 3rd gens have an offset of b/w 30mm - 33mm. The roadster wheels have an offset of 33mm on the rears and something else on the front...can't remember the exact values. But they ARE within the maxima range. Thus the wheels are plug and play.

With that being said, you are correct in that the stock Z tire size is wrong for the maxima. IIRC the stock size for the Z is 225/50 17 for the fronts and 235/50 17 for the rears....To correct the speedo difference, the right size to go on the max is 235/45 17 on both the front and the rear. At this point, it's important to note that the fronts are 17 x 7.5 and the rears are 17 x 8.

I am currently running 235/45/ 17 on the rears of my maxima with the Z roadster wheels. Not a hint of rubbing. I am yet to change the fronts to the same size. But when I had the 235/50 17s up front, they rubbed on the inside only during full turns. And I'm running eibachs. One the rear, they were at risk of touching the strut housing. But the 225s were fine back there.

So, I believe it's safe to say that the "MAXIMA", not just the 3rd gen, can run Z wheels, but with 235/45 17. Now if you're extremely lowered, that's another case.

yea i would have to disagree with 97maxgirl...currently i have the 17' 350z stocks on my 97 maxima...runs just fine...i actually like how the tires are much wider...i dont think theres to much of an issue in swapping these out...the tires in the back are bigger, but u can just change out the front 2 or the back 2....currently i just have 235 all the way around...running just fine...

I'm running the 350Z 18"x8 touring wheels with pirelli 235/40/18 tire front and back. I still haven't drop my car yet since i have to bring it back to the bodyshop again but so far the front clears to full lock on turns left and rights. Back wheels looks perfect and no rubbing at all too.

For an IRS rear suspension like the 3-gen or 300z/240sx/510 etc.. this might be true. But for beamed supsensions like the 4-5 gens, the rears wheels stay straight up and down?

As long as the tire diameter isn't over 25.7", it should work fine on 3rd,4th, and early 5th gens.
