need some tire opinions
I need to replace these Potenzas. For one thing, I hate them and don't think they are very good at all. And for another, I have four - yes FOUR - plugs in the rear tires.
I got a price quote from Sam's Club for Michelin Pilot Sport A/S for $212/tire. These are my questions:
1. Is this a good tire? What is better?
2. Is this a good price for the tire?
3. On a stock suspension, would it look stupid to get a lower profile tire like 222/35?
Thanks in advance.

Check Ebay for Falken 512 Ziex- I just got a set for my moms 00 Altima in 205-60-15" size for 220 shipped on all 4. I run 245-40-17" Falken Azenis Sport on my 01 Max- death with these on in the winter- trust me !

If you are a 'harder core' fanatic of a sporting ride the Pilots will be great.
I found them too harsh and noisy for what is supposed to be a family sedan, not a hard-core sports car so I replaced my Pilots with the new Bridgestone Turanza LS-V in stock 225/50/17 size .
Veredict? It's a much, MUCH better choice of tire for this car than the Pilots: almost the same ultimate dry grip, equal wet grip and much MUCH softer and quieter.
They are also huge in size for a 225/50. So, you have a choice: if you are not lowered and want to fill in the wheel gap better than with the stock Potenzas or the Pilots, stay with the OEM 225/50 size; if u are lowered but with stock 7" rims I suggest you drop a size to 215/50 and save a few more bucks.
These are the best tires I have EVER owned -and I've been driving since 1968

Replaced my stock rubber with BFG Traction T/A's. For $119 from discount tire, I am very happy with them. Much quieter than the worn out stock Bridgestones, and they have a 60k mile warranty. Not bad for a 235/45/17.
