Tire recommendations
Tire recommendations
What tires would you recommend for a 97 GXE for winter and summer conditions in the Toronto area?
Both traction and handling are important (kids in the car), durability as well (don't want to buy a new set every season), no need for "sporty" behaviour (I don't go above 140km/h) but noise can be an issue.
Oh, some versatility is needed as I will probably be late in changing between winter and summer sets. Also, we do have rain in the summer in Ontario and the weather conditions and temperature ranges in the spring and fall vary greatly.
So the winter set should be able to endure some hot days and the summer (or all-season?) set should perform well on wet roads.
Recommendations on where to buy/install are also very welcome!
Thank you,
Alex.

I'm in Ottawa and use some Goodyear Allegra's from Canadian Tire. They work fine in the wet as well. Haven't used them in the winter yet but I do have some BF Goodrich Winter Slaloms waiting in my garage. I haven't had any problems on them. They don't wear fast either.
