correct tire size for my max...

hey guys, i have a 97 maxima SE i believe with 16 inch tires. Right now i have 205/55/R16 rubber on them. I want to get some new tires, and i was wondering what's the stock tire size that came with the car. Thanks in advance.

97 was 215/55-HR16, probably came with RS-A or Proxes. I believe that the GLE or GXE had 205/65-15's, but don't quote me, check out tirerack.com. If you've got 15's in a 205, you probably have the right size--maybe you have a GLE where someone added a rear spoiler?

i got some bridgestone potenzas re92 very cheap, but the thing is that they're 205/50/R16. besides the fact that the speedo will be lying by 4%, is there any other reason why it would be bad to put them on?

They might look a little small, but other than the speedo error, there's no real reason not to run them.

I'd go with 225/55/16s. There's a pretty good selection of them in all sorts of styles and they fill up the wheel well nicely. I ran the BF Goodrich KDWS without complaints, but also was totally impressed with with the Pirelli SuperSport, except in inclement weather.

if smaller tires effect the speedometer readings, would they also effect the odometer? and in which way?
