Falken Ziex 512 Review

I've had these tires on for 11 months and 13K. According to Discount Tire where I went for my 3rd tire rotation Sat. I've got about 7-8K left on them.
Dry grip is still strong but wet grip has deterioted quite a bit over just the last 3 months. In early June I could run 70-75 on wet roads with minimal hydroplaning but now 60 is pushing it. Tire/Road noise has never been a problem and remains fairly constant.
I am somewhat disappointed at the wear rate. I don't street race, autocross or even blast the canyons hard. Primary use is freeway to work and weekend errands. I was quoted 24-26K as a useful life so it appears that number was 20%-30% high. If I can get another 7-8K out of these they will be close to bald. At 1K/month I may have to pickup a new set prior to winter because these are likely to be worthless in the snow.

So....$139 for the Falkens that go maybe 20K in 15-16 months or $229 for Michelin Pilot Sports. The treadwear rating is 360 for the Falkens and 400 for the Pilot Sports. So is a 10% increase in treadwear worth a 70% premium in price. Hmmmmm?????

PSI? I believe 32.
I really haven't checked since the shop does it every oil change and rotation and I haven't noticed any slow leaks or squishy handling.
