Problem with rims

I have 17" Exel Ecko's ( rims are 7.5 wide and I think a 35mm offset) on 225/45/17 Khumo's in the front and Nankangs in the back. However, now I lost my smooth ride that I had when I was stock. It's really bumpy (i'm not even dropped) and the car seems to pull to the side alot despite me having my alignment done. What can it be? Please help.

I think you're SOL on the bumpyness part... (that's what low profile tires do; stiffen up the ride so it's bumpy)

Not sure what to say about the pulling... is this only while accelerating or does it happen all the time? (could have a bad tire maybe)

I happens when I'm at about 60-70 mph sometimes or when I'm on cruise. The guy at STS tire told me its because I went to a bigger tire with larger tread, so it tends to do this. Is that true?

What size tire would you suggest to have a better ride with the 17's?

First thing that comes to mind is make sure they balanced your tires correctly.
Second thing is did you get any "rings" for your rims. I know I got some hubcentric rings for my rims.

Hubcentric rings are usually plastic or aluminum rings that mount on your hub and go in between the rim and the hub. It compensates for the center bore difference of your rim and your hub.

i ordered mine from discount tire direct last week. only costs $15 for the set and it centers your wheel to the car and help eliminates vibrations
