Toyos have been on for about 5 days....WOW
I recently bought some Toyo Proxes 4 all season Ultra High Performance Tires for my 2k3 Maxima. I got 235/45WR17's on the stock 17x7 rims.
Traction...
I had the opportunity to drive them on wet roads (was barely misting)..
The traction was phenomenal...I never expected them to be that good on a wet surface.
In dry situations? I don't "catch a scratch" as easy in 2nd, and never in 3rd. (I would only catch it in 3rd on RARE occasions, but it's because the tires were crap)
Overall traction is much better, I would love to take her to the track now, I feel very confident that I can get my 60 foot lower than before.
Handling..
Overall they take my car to the limits of its suspension with ease (not really a good thing). I need to upgrade my suspension now (lowering springs and struts, RSB)
The only downgrade in handling is when I "twitch" the steering wheel the car doesn't seem to react to my input with the immediacy as the old Potenza's. There is a slight delay (considering the advantages of these tires, it's not really worth mentioning.)
Road Noise...
Definately quiet, but nothing spectacular, they are quieter than the worn out Potenza's, but I didn't notice a HUGE improvement like when I went from OE Goodyear RS-A's on my '98 Sentra SE to Dunlop SP5000's back in 2000. This is probably due to the fact that the Maxima is a quieter car to begin with.
Cost...
$125 per tire at NTB
$22 per tire for install and roadhazard warranty
$588 before taxes.
Overall...
ME LIKEY LOTS!

I just saw it, I agree completely. I've had mine for about a month now. They compare very well with the Bridgestone RE950s that they replaced and they're $40/tire cheaper to boot. I would buy them again in a second. Great tires.
I'm considering these tires....thanks for the review. I understand these are relatively new tires, but does anyone have a "guestimate" of what kind of mileage to expect from these? I was at a shop asking about them, and a guy there said he had them and said all the same things I've been hearing regarding handling and traction. However he did say at only 7000 miles he has noticeable wear....so that got me a little worried. He did say he drives pretty hard, and I know I don't....then again, maybe thats due to crappy OEM tires on there still? hehehe
