Is 19 x 9.5 pushing it?

Looking at some rims, and saw that one of the sizes listed for the particular rims that I want offer a 19 x 9.5, and I was wondering if that was pushing it? The offset is a 40mm. Let me know your thoughts. O, and the tires I'm looking at are 235/35/19.

I have 19x9.5 in the rear...no way on earth would that fit the front. Also your going to want a 45mm offset in the back if you plan on dropping it over an inch or so. I'd suggest 8.5 all around for daily driving.

i was lookin at 19x9.5 for the rears, like Hamy has, with 275 tires, but then you can never rotate your tires....aside from appearance, there is really no point. (maybe some slightly better handling).

the front cannot take a 9.5" rim. i think that 235 is too small of a tire for 9.5" wide anyway. when i had a 3000GT with 17x9s, he said the absolute smallest i should go was 245. the widest you should go in the front safely looks like an 8.5" rim with a 245 tire, although 235, which is what you want, will work fine too.

I got 235's on my 8.5's, and they fit perfectly, I don't think a 235 tire will even fit on a 9.5 rim.

235 was the option they gave for a 9.5. i thought that was kind of odd too. so you guys are recommending 235 on 8.5 width? how's that look? i want to go as wide as i can, without overdoing it.

On a 9.5 wide rim, I'd recommend 265. On 8.5 or 8 I'd recommend 245. Since I'm on my 4th set of rims now, I think I know what I'm talking about...

Hey Playboy... That is a fantastic looking Max. That drop is so nice with the wheels. Very good job and real clean. Perfect execution.

I'm sure you have to look twice at most entrances and speed bumps, but that is worth it.

Even with 19X8.5 I wouldnt go with anything less than 245/35 's, which is what I have. .....I have seen 235's and they look way too thin . With 19x9.5 you cant safely go less that 265's like Triple8 said......

9.5 inches is about 237 mm so no way should your rim ever be the same width as your tires (235). I have seen this and not only does it mess up you sidewalls and not allow the to function properly, but it also looks fugly.
