I purchased Continental ContiExtreme 235/45ZR17's and had them mounted/balanced on 10/14/03. The car had 54,034 on it that day. Today, I have 67,7XX miles and all four tires are almost down to the wear bars. The front and rear tires show uniform wear. I have always checked the tire PSI religously and the car's alignment was within spec. I have never raced on these tires, nor did any type of burnout. I drive on the highway a majority of the time. I am going to contact Tire Rack and see what they have to say regarding this type of wear. I got 30k out of my RE92's and 25K out of my BF KDWS's. The latter tires were subjected to a couple of trips to the dragstrip and were road raced at Gingerman. I figured I would get at least 30k miles out of the Conti's.

Not that I have any answer for you but I've always had a problem with Continental tires, never heard anything good about them.
