Is it worth fixing a badly bent rim?

One of my rims got bent on a real bad pothole a couple of nights ago, it was already slightly bent on one side but nothing too dramatic to affect the rim/tire, but now i bent it real bad, enough to not allow me to drive due to the tire not being able to be inflated at all. Now my question is, should i try to re-align and fix the rim(in two spots)-$50 or just buy a brand new rim($170)? I hurd once a rim is bent, even after being fixed, its never the same, true or not?? The rim has alotta curb rash too which is making me just consider buying a new one. This is an 18" Velox Nova by the way

You can have it fixed for $50? Sounds like the rim is in real bad condition too. For $50, I would fix it.

My friend is taking in 4 18 inch HRE's to get fixed and refinished for $1000. Three rims are bent by a nasty pothole. He was deciding against it but i was like, man, $1000 a piece for each rim... jus do it.

but for you, to fix it is $50 and for a brand new flawless rim is only $170... get a brand new rim.
