Stock 16" Tire Size Options/Opinions
Stock 16" Tire Size Options/Opinions
Currently in the market to replace the tires on for my 16" factory 5-stars (98 Maxima). I've decided on Toyo Proxes 4 and the factory size listed is 215/55/16.
What does everyone recommend for looks, perf, ect... I think some people said they run 225/50/16. Will this change even matter much for perf and will it look right?
Any comments/suggestions will be appreciated!

225 50 16!!!!!
if you are gonna replace your stock tires definitely go 225/50/16..they look so hot.. they are sort of like low pros on stock 16's.they stick out about half an inch and looks really hot.. also the wider tire gives you such a good grip.. i have 225/50/16 in the front and stock in the back..(didnt have enough money to get all four) lol.. it looks alot better. im looking for new tires myself so if you know anyone with really good deals please let me know.. email me @ wgordils@optonline.net if you want to see a pic or something of my tires or if you got some good deals!!!
Thanks, I'm still trying to figure out what to do...I would like the wider tire, but with my H&R drop I don't want it too look like there is more fender gap then there already is now.
www.edgeracing.com (Some good deals here...probablly where I will by my Toyo's)

I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in and say thanks for the good info!
I'm on Stock 15" and want to go up to 16" and add some nice black rims, I was worried getting new tires would be very expensive (~$500) but thanks to you link I'll probably get the Toyo Proxes 4 as well (225/50/16).
How good is it on tread wear? and do you know what exactly Rim protector?

Well, I decided to stick with the stock size. Just ordered 215/55/16 Toyo Proxies 4. Everyone seems to agree that this is a nice tire and the tread pattern looks awesome.
Thanks for the input however...I figure this will do fine for now untill I want to fork over the money for some new rims someday.
