If you can't afford better quality rims, go for it.

so are all their rims painted even the silver ones, and how long did it take for the paint to start peeling?

Even the silver ones have clearcoat on them which may start to flake off. My friend made the mistake of buying ADR wheels against my advice and he's kicking himself now, clearcoat is flaking off badly. You get what you pay for.

my friend has some ADR's on his M3. Has stood a lot more abuse than his bent $1000 a piece rims HRE's.

Definitly worth the money I had a set awhile back I hit a curb doing like 15 (about 3inchs tall) and they didnt even bend at all even with 215/35/18 nitto nt450 tires, I was impressed, finish may not be the best but durability is great. Anyone saying bad things about probably never had them or never bent a wheel and seen how good they really are.

The HREs can be fixed. That's one of the benefits of a multi-piece wheel.
