Look for this in the 5th gen FAQ's

Rims and Tires:
What tire size can I use?
Can I run oversized tires on my stock 17" SE Rims?
5th Gen Tire Comparison, 17" tires
What tire sizes besides 225/50R17 can I safely run on my OEM rims?

In defense of running 235/45R17 tires on 5th Gen OEM rims

I can vouch for the P zero neros m s, I have them in 235-40/18 on my 4th gen, but those do not come in 225-50/17, only 235-45/17 which can be read about in those threads, as far as stock wheel width and circumference is concerned.

Before I got 19's, I put 235/45-17 Falken Azenis ST-115's on my stock SE 17"
rims. They fit perfectly, and definitely made my Max handle better. Why go back to 225/50's when you can have 235/45's !!

Falkens are cheaper, no?

I have the Falken ZEIX 512s.... 235/45/17 on my stock rims... love em so far... awesome dry and wet traction and I'm waiting to try em out in the snow....

Good places are www.tirerack.com and www.edgeracing.com or if you can find someone local to hook ya up....

Here's a list that will answer every question you can think of, and then some.

For the love of god, PLEASE at least make an attempt at looking for the answer before posting a question.

You guys? You didn't mean me too did you?

Each and every one of the ones I posted are active.

Outdated or not they still have the answers to the questions he asked.

I'm not hard on people, nor did I waste space because people still tend to post the same stuff over and over again, adn this is a prime example, so in the long run, I was trying to save space.

No name calling please.

NmexMax and 2k2kev have a point... even though some of those FAQs are old, they are still applicable and are still a rich source of information for everyone.... its actually pretty sucky how newer folks "blame" others for directing them to "old" FAQs that they could have gone to themselves first, but that actually address many of the very very commonly asked questions raised here....

Waisted

There's a tire section, go read it. Using your logic everyone should post a new thread every time they have a question, because "things change all the time!"
