I may be ordering the Kumo Ecsta KH11's next week. I plan to put them on my stock 2002 SE. Anyone else have them? what are your experiences? I will be buying them for $125 each with free mounting and balancing? Worth it??? whats better? Should i get the stock size 225/50 17 or go with 235/50 17? i know the 235 is slightly oversized and may put the speedometer off by 1.5% or so im willing to deal with that, any other feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I replaced my original 16" Toyos (which made it over 50,000 by the way) with some Traction TA's. I only have about 4,000 on them so far, but with the comstant rain we have had around Chicago over the past couple weeks, I couldn't be happier.
Not that I know alot about tires, but I just get a very solid and stable feel from them even at 70-80 mph in the rain on the highway. I'm feelin pretty confident that once the nice Chicago snow starts coming down, I should be good to go as well.
My only complaint is that there does seem to be a little more road noise that makes it way into the cabin than before. But hey, unless you are listening to the radio at very low volume anyways you don't really notice. So overall, I say good choice.

I have 235/45/17 Falken ZEIX 512s and they are fine so far.... and I know that this size is not recommended, but there is a post in defense of them, as well as outlining some measures to ensure safe use, here:

I havent bought them yet just ordered them, if a few of you guys told me that it was a bad a choice i would of called the dealer and canceled the order and bought somthing else, I told the dealer i wanted to see them first he said he needs more stock anyway. anyway i ordered 235 45 r17 , he read the specs on them and said that they were a tad bit smaller (lower profile) than the craptenzas and about 1/2 inc wider although they are 235 instead of the stock 225.
