the rims on the 2002 GLE and the SE are the same width, correct?

the GLE i have now comes with 215-55/17 tires and would like to mount 225-50/17 (which come on the SE) on the GLE rims.

im about 95% sure im right, but i just had to double check here before i made the purchase.

also, one more quick question

the winter tire package im looking at is a 16" steelie, this should clear the brakes, right?

Hi, I'm from Hastings, MN but had several friends attend SCSU. What tires do you run on your max? My wife's is a 2002 SE 6-spd, and we're looking at getting new tires, possible going with Dunlop Winter Sport M3 or Michelin Pilot Alpin PA2 on 16" steel wheels for winter. We had some Michelin Artic Alpin's on our old Saab 900 and it was great.

I had Michelin Alpines and they were great during winter times.

 

Same width (OEM), slightly different offset.

 

i really like the 02-03 gle rims. would they fit a 00 gle by any chance, ive heard both sides-does anyone know for sure?

 

Why wouldn't it? They will fit.
