Maximum width on 3rd wheels ?

What's the widest wheel you can run on a 3rd gen max ? I want to run 17x9's possibly 10's if I can get'm that wide. Then I'm gonna drop it(currently stock height) 2.5 in the front and 2 in the back. Can anyone show me a pic of one with such a wheel ? Or atleast tell me what the biggest wheel I can run is. Also what other cars is the maxima bolt pattern interchangable with ?
Any help would be MUCH appriciated, thanks !

I know, anyone who puts wider than an 8" wheel on a Maxima is a complete moron. As for the answer, we have an independent rear suspension, which limits us a bit in the back compared to the 4th and 5th gens. I'm sure with the correct offset and width anything is possible, but in general I've never really seen anything wider than an 8.5" in the back without some sort of clearance issues.

In all my reading I've only ever encountered one person who claims that he runs 17x9 without a problem... even then details were sketchy. Just run 17x8, since 235 is generally the widest you can run in the rear anyway. Offset is critical.

I like the look of the WIDE wheel offset deal on high profile cars;IE: supras,M3's,Porshes,benz's,etc....But if 17X8's is big enough I'll do that with a 2 1/2 inch drop in the front and a 2inch in the back. I wanna be able to use a deep dish will with a nice lip. It sounds nuts, but it will SICK when and IF it's done(how soon I get the money). So I wanted to see what I could do before I went and did it. But thanks for all the input,I'll post pics when it's done.
