Safe to use this tire size on 16" rims?

I have a 98 Maxima SE with the 16" alloy stock rims. I am wondering if it is safe to use the following tire sizes, and which is the best size:

205/60/16
195/60/16

reason being is I have to chnage my tires, and I can get a good deal on both those sizes, I would save about $200. BUt will it screw anything up? Like ABS or soemthing? It's an automatic, fully loaded. Thanks in advance!!

Oh and the stock tire size is:

215/55/16

No .. don't do it. Get at least the stock size, I cannot stress enough how much getting a smaller tire is bad for handling and safety.

Check tirerack.com for good deals on the correct size tire for your car.

206-60-16 is totally fine...will not be unsafe in the slightest, i have been mounting tires for years and never seen or even heard of 205-60-16's being unsafe on a max

You'll probably be okay with 205/60. Load rating is even similar or only slightly lower, which is usually fine. Size difference is 1.5% which isn't significant. Just don't drive at 99.9% of the car's limit like you used to with the old tires.

Why would you want to go skinnier with the tires rather than wider?
That would not be the best route, IMO.
I understand a good deal, but think about what you are doing?
