I think it is best to not do it on chrome wheel. I am doing it only on polished aluminum. Chrome is a shiny powdercoat. If it is done on chrome wheel, the chrome will be removed and it will look dull.

How well do you think this method will work for rims that have the lip painted or don't have the aluminum look around the edge?

Umm....I think you would take the paint off. I wouldn't try it.

Sorry to bring up this old thread, but does anyone know where I can get the touch paint that matches the 2k4 oem wheels? I used the above method to repair some curb rash now I would like to re-paint the scratches. Thanks for anyone's help.

This will work to repair the curb rash but you will have a hard time finding a paint to match the rest of the wheel.
