trying to find an odd tire size....
I have 15x7.5 rims which have 215/60/15 potenza RE950's on there now. Love the tires but I need something more sticky and wider for my snail power comming this spring. This tire will be warm weather only and I will get a set of snow tires for the winter and stop running these all season HP all year round like I have been. I really want to keep my 15's but tire sizes for them stink
I really am having a hard time finding a 235 or 245 series tire that is close to the stock diameter.
So far I have only found 245/50/15 Dunlop SP 8000. The reviews on TireRack were not that great on them.
I have always bought Bridgestone/Firestone since I get employee price, but only thing they got is a 225/50/15 S0-3 and I really don't want to go with a smaller diameter (23.9) since my Eibachs leave enough wheel gap as it is. I really wanted 235 or wider anyhow.
You guys know of any 15" sticky 235 or 245 tire that is close to the 25" diameter?

Use a tire calculator and find out the theroetical sizes that would fit and are + or - about 3% or less from OE diameter. Then try and see if other brand tires that TireRack doesn't sell have that size. Brands like Toyo, Falken, Hankook, Nitto, Federal, etc etc.... I'd start with these first four or five I mentioned though, rather than some of the really lesser known brands, although they're unlikely to have uncommon sizes beause they wouldn't sell many.
I've been trying to figure this out too and i think the widest you can go without throwing the speedometer off too much and exaggerating wheel gap is 225/60/15 and according to the tire calculator it's only a .51% difference in diameter from stock. You can wider but the wheel gap will stand out and the speedometer will be off.

Going to 225/60/15 is kinda pointless IMO, the tread width is only .2"-.7" wider depending on the manufacturer. My current 215/60/15 RE950's have ton's of tread left. I would only upgrade to a 235 or 245 to get that extra width. Now those 245/50/15 have a 9.1" tread width compared to my 7.1" current tread width.
The BF Goodrich would fit I think. You're right about 15" suck for tires. I would have gone with the Toyo T1-S right away, but their biggest diameter is like 23.9".
