Goodyear Assurance?

Goodyear Assurance?
Time to buy tires again. I've heard very good things about Goodyear Assurance Tripletred, but they're not a performance tire. I'm torn because in Indiana we have every kind of weather possible, and I'm not willing to slide around in the winter just so I have better dry-weather performance, and a separate set of winter tires just isn't in the budget. We can't have it all, but what's the best compromise? I haven't seen a tire discussion here in a while, but I haven't been on much. If this has been discussed, a link would be wonderful. Otherwise, I'd love to open it up for a new discussion.
Apparently they have a 30 day free trial, so I think I'll at least do that. What could it hurt?
I've had BFGoodrich Comp T/As up til now, and for a while I was very happy with their winter performance. I would have preferred better dry-weather stick, but in an all-weather I don't know if that's reasonable. Now they're bad all around cause they're bald. They only lasted 35K miles; is that typical?
So here's my big question: Those who need all-weather tires, what are you running and what do you recommend? Any experience with these Goodyear Assurance Tripletred?
