factory rims cast or forged?

just curious, thinking of getting a set of cheap 17's.. wondering if im better off just getting factory 17's or like a BSA 17.. is the factory wheel a stronger wheel?? or are they about the same?

I'm pretty sure factory aluminum wheels are cast, as is almost always the case. Just remember that by simply moving up to 17" wheels from 15", you will have to monitor your driving more carefully because they have less resistance to impact damage (tire AND wheel).

Very difficult to say how a "cheap" wheel compares to factory, since there are too many variables..... but all other things being equal (like comparing aftermarket replacement OEM knock-off wheels) I guess I'd have to say factory stuff is generally better....
