235/45-17 tires on Maxima

I've had slightly larger 245/45-17 tires on my 1999 Maxima (lowered ~1.75 inches with Intrax springs and KYB GR-2 shocks) for over a year. No clearance or rubbing problems, although it now rides pretty harsh. Changed many things at once, so can't really separate variables.

235-45-17 is the size everyone with 17's should have if they want to keep their stock diamater. So yeah, about half the people on this entire message board probably have them.

235 is the spec width for a 7.5" width.

yep, i have them too. i've got a 2" drop and they work fine, but my cai in the fender well is a little bit pushing it. one day on the interstates, i was driving pretty fast and over a little concave on the pavement. the car pressed down and the tire grinded the spot where the cai is pusing the fender splash guard towards the tire. the tire ate a hole where the intake was. but i replaced it and extended the intake after i get home. now everything is running just fine...

According to the tire calculator, that size is what it recomends to use so you won't be to far off from stock tire diameter. I too have that size for two years, and i have no problems.
