Toyo Proxes 4 or PZero Nero M&S

I have the Proxes fz4 but two have bubbles so I'm gonna upgrade since they are going to discontinue them but I'm torn between the PZero Nero M&S and the Toyo Proxes 4. Or is there a better choice out there? They have to be all season I live in New Jersey so snow is sometimes an Issue. I was looking for a comparison on tirerack but they don't carry Toyo.

I'm looking into getting Kumho Ecsta ASX's. I had Conti's and they're good, but they wore out a bit too fast IMO. They're worn w/under ~30K miles on them despite religiously rotating them every 6K and keeping tire pressure constant. Hopefully the Kumho's wear better, but at this point, it's all about $$ for me. The marginal benefit of getting PZeros isn't enough to cover the increased cost of them over Kumho's. Esp. given the fact that the ASX's did better than Contis and were behind marginally only comp. to the PZeros (per Tirerack's own review). Further, I don't know what it is w/the compound in these things (ultra high perf A/S), but they seem to wear out so fast relative to what I've had in the past on other cars. Have no idea why, but I'm just going to try out another brand in a seemingly futile attempt at getting more than 30K mi. out of UHP A/S tires

I feel you. I was at the exact same place a few weeks ago. I ended going with the Pirelli PZero's (235/45/17). Dry traction is awsome. And it recently rained here, a lot, and the wet weather handling was pretty good as well. Good luck with you decision.

Both are great tires. You won't be disappointed with ever one you choose.Toyo's are cheaper, Pirelli's have more tread life. Both are supposed to have equal performance.
I got my Toyo proxies 4 at http://edgeracing.com/ best price for them on the web.
I love my Toyo's .Great tire for an UHP A/S tire .I never had the Pirelli's so I can't speak about them.

I looked on tirerack for a comparison and they don't carry Toyo(why is that). The pirelli's would be cheaper for me since I get a bussiness discount. I've had both tires on previous cars and I loved both.

Get the P zeros, won't be disappointed. I have them and they have excellent traction. They're even good in snow.

My reply won't be much help on these specific tires, but I've had a couple different sets of all season Pirelli's over the last few years, and I havent liked any of them. They've been fine on dry pavement, but not very good in the rain, and useless in the snow. They've been older models (P6 and P6000), but based on those experiences, I won't buy another Pirelli. I just ordered a new set of rims and chose the Proxes 4 as the tires for them. Once I get 'em on I'll let you know what I think.

for the Toyos, though I've never tried the Pirellis. I've had mine for about 1000 miles now, through rain, shine, sleet, and snow. They are GREAT dry and wet, and pretty good in sleet and snow. My only complaint is that they seem to pick up gravel/road dirt easier. Not bad though. And even though I know this doesn't matter, I think they look MUCH better than the PZeros

Thanks for the info so far, I gotta call for pricing on both. Thats going to be my deciding factor. How come Toyo isn't on Tirerack?
BTW is there a link for used superchargers or turbos?
I haven't seen anything on this in the forums.

I believe the Tire Rack doesn't carry Toyo 'cause Toyo won't sell to them. Something about not wanting to upset the mom & pop shops that do carry Toyo. I guess it would be along the same lines as why Alpine wouldn't sell to Crutchfield.

I got my toyo 4s put on 3 days ago and they have been great thus far. Today was a true test, we had rain, sleet and snow in a nasty storm here in Jersey and they performed great, better than i thought. I got the toyo's for 140 per tire out the door plus the disposal of my old ones. I decided to go with the toyo's even though i get a work discount w/ tire rack. When it comes to tires never accept nothing better than #1. Whats a few dollars when we already spent thousands in mods. Tires are the most important mod when it comes to performance so thats why I chose TOYO!!!!!!!!!!!!
