Weight diff. between 5 star, sawblades, and gxe steelies???

Anyone know what these wheels weigh in at, respectively?

i've got the 5 star se rims right now, but want to know how much weight loss would i get going to sawblades, or steelies at the track?

I'd like to know, too. Although another factor to consider is that I think the "Honeycomb" rims and the steelies are 6" wide whereas the 5-spoke SE rims and the "Sawblades" are 6.5" wide. You should be able to fit slighly wider tires on the rims and therefore increase your surface area for better launching and handling...but if you want a real difference you should probably look at aftermarket wheels.

19.6 is the weight for 16' SE rims. on tirerack they got a nice racing rims, 16x6.5 or something that weight in 12.1 which gains like .3 quartermile. I know you gain at least a .1 quarter mile with those 15 inch blade rims.

Davi- I got some sawblades for sale if you want, or maybe a trade? PM me if your interested.. MaxGordon-where do you live in Pewaukee? I am also from Pewaukee
-Also weight will affect your times, but having a larger rim will also hurt..(Rotational Inertia) ex. 16"s vs. 15"s .. Both weighing the same, the 15's will be better, but only a marginal difference

im always interested in this stuff too.

97 Nissan Maxima SE - 5 star rim: 19.5 lbs

Just a thought:
Rim: Rota Subzero
Size: 16 x 7
Weight: 14.5 lbs
Price: $500 w/ free shippping
Online Store: www.machiii.net

Now thats not a bad deal ( lol, if you have 500 bucks laying around). You wouldnt have to buy new tires which would save on some dough too. Unless the 215/55/16 tire wouldnt fit, not sure on that. hey you may like these so much you could sell your se rims to cut into the cost.

Someone take off your rim and put it on a scale and weigh it up. take note of the tire size and brand, since different tires have different weights.

The sawblades are 16-16.5lbs. 5stars are 19.5 if I recall correctly.

the rims your talking about weighing 12.1 lbs for 15's are the SSR Competitions, but i think they weight less than that, i think the 15s weight 9.3 lbs

i've already got sawblades on the way if everything pans out. i'm just curious because i want to get the best possible 1/4 mile time before the manual tranny comes in at the end of summer, and then compare. thanks for all the help guys. the sawblades should make a minor difference.
