question about wheel swap / wheel lock
question about wheel swap / wheel lock
just yesterday I bought a set of 5 spokes off someone from the org. I am finally getting rid of my sawblades. my question is would I be safe swapping one wheel at a time using the stock jack? [I live on campus and have limited space to work with.] or am I better off just paying some shop to just put them on for $20? Also, I would like to buy some wheel locks for them. I've been browsing ebay and have seen some 350z wheel lock kits. Are these Nissan wheel locks a universal application between maximas/altimas/350z ? Thanks for the replies.
You can just jack each wheel up and change them one at a time - it's not going to hurt anything, bro - save your $20, just make sure they're balanced & aligned, otherwise you'll be wearing the rubber out unevenly. It's just going to take a while to finish, so give yourself some time, and if the tires you have are directional tires like mine, make sure you put them on right...
I just got some lug nuts from e-Bay that will fit our cars. Here they are:

If the 5-spokes you bought don't have a cover over them, you can use your stock lugs, and just go somewhere and get a set of four locking lug nuts and get your roll on. If your wheels do have the lug nut cover, you'll have to find some lugs that will fit under the wheel cover like the ones above. Note the specs on the lugs (12mm x 1.25) - make sure you get the right pitch for the threads on your car.
Good luck
