help in finding lightweight 17" rotas
help in finding lightweight 17" rotas
it seems like rotas were so 2 years ago, but i like them! my current tires are wearing out quickly. does anyone know where i can find a good reputable rota dealer with good prices? i'm looking for 17 inch rota subzeros, but other models look like they'd go well with on old 4th gen. since my driving has been cornering and handling oriented for the past couple of years i'm looking to upgrade to functional lightweight alloys that won't break the bank (i have my drift spec S13 to do that already). also, what size and offset have you rota guys been running with? thanks.
Hey good choice in wheels.
Well i happen to be looking for the subzero's too. I found them at www.machiii.net and www.spyeng.com. I don't know how reputable they are. As for offset, 17" subzeros have an offset of 45 or 48mm. Sounds a bit much for our cars. I am concerned about that. Will we have to get spacers or extended studs for clearance on the front suspension?
I am debating whether to get 16's or 17's. I like comfort with 16's, but i also want the looks and handling of 17s. Right now i have honeycomb 15's with H&R matched with GR2's so it's still a pretty comfy ride. I'll probably end up sacrificing comfort and getting 17's but i don't know.
Any thoughts? on offset or 16 vs 17" wheels.....help us out please!

there used to be tons of groupdeals on rotas about a year+ ago. you might want to look at subie forums also. the only concern i have with 17s is the wheel gap will look bigger. i'm lowered with eibach's but the drop isn't that much. kinda looks "properly" stock now. so...plus 1 or 2 isn't of much consequence. if anything, tires will be cheaper. i definately want to buy from a supplier who's fast and reputable.
forgot....
yeah, i thought about the cost. 16s would be cheaper, but not that much. Why do you say the wheel gap will look bigger? Won't 17s, maybe 16s, make wheel gap look smaller? I guess it depends on the tire size too.
What about acceleration and braking with 16s? will it be better than 17s? Would i even know/feel the difference than what i have now (stock)?

does anyone know what the proper offset for 17" subzeros is? dave h, the differences in handling and speed is will only be noticed by a stopwatch on a proper roadcoarse. the 16s will accel slightly better, but the 17s will offer more handling response. as for the wheel gap, 17s will creat the optical illusion of a bigger wheel gap unless it's properly lowered.
