Tirerack ratings say they are only fair to good tires. I won't go for anything under excellent or superior tirerack ratings.

i have these, and i think they are terrible. i had no confidence in these driving in the winter or in the rain. im sure they are better than the potenzas that everyone hates, but i dont think these are much better. in the dry weather they are not bad, an average tire, but in the rain i always feel like im seconds away from hydroplaning, and in fact, i did hydroplane once or twice. and in the snow, slush and snow would always get caked in the wheels, so i couldnt really judge there, but next year, im gettin snow tires.

 

The EL42s are the Turanza equivalent to the crapenza RE92s, they suck. Get something else.
