Offset Question?

what is the offset for 98 stock se rims? and also will 17x7 with an offset of 42 fit 98 maxima?

does higher the offset mean that the rim will go more inside the wheel well? thanks.

More + offset means the wheels goes into the wheel well. Negative offset pushes the wheel out away from the car. Check tire rack you should be able to firgure out stock offset there.

I looked up a 16x7 a while back at tire rack and it listed the offset needed as +40 mm. So +42 should fit. Thats less than 1/10" difference.

One last thing, if you go to tire rack, I think you need to add the rims to your shopping basket and then the offset will show up.

DO NOT buy wheels narrower than 8" wide. If for some ungodly reason you do, the offset should be between 30-38mm to look and handle decent.

Please dont give false information, I'm running a set of SSR Integral A2 17x7 with +45mm offset and they are perfect for 4gen. They're even clear my Gran Turismo big brakes kit with a 5mm spacer.

I plan on getting 17x7.5 with an offset of 45. Would that work without clearance problems? By the way, they will be Rota Subzero's.
Thanks.

Depends on the drop. But with a decent setting on your coilovers, the fronts will be perfect, and the rear will be OK but could use a 5 or 10mm spacer to look even better.
