Anyone have these on their car? i was wondering how well they perform,wearout, roadnoise, tracktion, etc..

 

I have heard very positive things about Nexen Tires, Great grip, great tread life and fairly inexpensive....just my 2cents

 

yes i have 245/45/18 on my 01 max they grip real good and have a smooth ride i was kind of iffy when i got them off of ebay but it all worked out good..overall they are good tires

-Dunlop FM-901 (broke the bead cause the sidewall is GARBAGE. Also too loud)


I just got them on my 17's....i did a clutch drop from 3500 RPM in a downpour....absolutly no spin. Nuff Said

 

My Michelin Pilot Sport A/S are done after only 60,000 kms! They are a great tire but very poor tread life. Someone recommended Nexen tires and I'm glad to see that some of you find it a worthy replacement.

How much are the savings to the Michelin's and is there a Nexen tire review available?

I have been considering these tires, and i was wondering how much you got these tires for. Mine are 245/45/18 and they were recommended by the shop. Anyone also have any suggestions for tires similar to these at the same or close pricing? thanks

 

Im getting them by Thursday of this week. Dubbya went with these and they look like a nice tread. The agent I spoke with about them told me they are comparable to Kumhos. Good tread and traction. And they are cheap!!

has anybody broke these suckers out on the hwy? I was wondering about road noise seeing I drive 25+ hwy miles a day

the hankook's I have now were slightly above av for r noise

 

I'm getting a complete set of these from a wholesaler friend for $231.74.
Just need to get them mounted and balanced on my own but I know of some shops that will do that for $7/each.

I'm going from Toyo Proxes4s to these so I can give some sort of review afterwards.

Im going with nexens because the next chice i have from the online place im getting the rims from is the proxes 4, but that adds $250 to the total price, does not sound like its worth it to go with Toyo.

 

Well, I'm on day 3 of the Nexen n3000s. I like them a lot...needless to say.

I went with a 50-series, from a 45 (Proxes4), to help soften bumps I can't avoid through everyday driving. Traction is fairly good and I can't tell a difference with sidewall flex through mild corners when compared to the old tires. Stopping from a good speed holds pretty well too.

All in all I think they are a great purchase.

 

what about u guys who have had the nexens for a while, how r they performing? Durability and handling? R they 60K warranty tires?

 

how are teh sidewalls?? I have 2 bubbles on my tires...about to pick some up for my 18s....wanna know if they're good....One set of tires only last me one season, so its not that bad if they're sucky tires..gonna be gone in a year neways...But i wanna know how hard are the side walls?? Are these like wanli tires??? come one..someone help me out here!!!

Supposedly Walmart had/has the Nexen N5000 in starting at $75 a pop not sure what cost is for the 225/50/17's though. I could not find in WA at Walmart though. I need 8 tires 4 for my Xtrail SUV and 4 for my Maxima SE 03. After reading a tonne for the cost I am gonna get the N5000 Nexens for the SE and SP641 for the Xtrail which are also a Nexen tire

If anyone has some links to an online merchant that ships for free slap it up as I would prefer to order outa USA to my USA addy. Right now I have found a local dealer with these tires on special for $603 Canadian for 4 installed, thus the reason I am trying to find out the cost in USA as the exchange is pretty equal so I may save a bit more.......

 

I have had a set of 225/45R17 N3000s for about 12K miles now and I think they are GREAT. Of the same size, I have gone through a set of Yokohama AVS ES100 and a set of Falken Ziex 512s.

Let me first say that the Yokohamas were awesome in dry and wet traction and handling. They only lasted me 19K miles.

The Falkens lasted me about 16K miles before the tread started to crack! The Falken 512s are the biggest pieces of crap I've ever used! The lateral handling sucked! The straight line traction was decent in the first 5K miles, but after that, they got hard and dangerous!

Now, let me talk about the Nexen N3000s I've had for a while. First off, you won't find a cheaper summer tire! They were the cheapest I found. In dry and wet and handling characteristics, I compare them to the Yokohama AVS ES100s I had. Seriously! I think the traction and sidewall stiffness is the same as the Yokos. So far, the N3000s seem to be holding up much better. They should last over 25K miles.

But be warned about this! The dimensions of the Nexen N3000s are much bigger than all other tires I've dealt with. I got the same size, 225/45R17. But they are bigger in OD, they are wider, and they have a bigger side profile. Therefore, I had to install 1/4" spacers on the rear wheels to keep the tires from rubbing my strut housing. That kinda sucked. But they definitely are bigger in every direction! Consider your sizing CAREFULLY and make sure the tire shop knows that before installing them! Check for any rubbing or turning issues afterwards too.

Wow! That is news for me. That must be the case for its smaller tire category. I have the Nexens N3000 in 235/40/18's and I, also, think they are great! With my size, the sidewall is quite thin, but they look awesome! It's just hard to find a reputable place to mount these tires in this size. Alot of places (around where I live) won't even touch these to mount because of them being a 40 series tire! What a bunch of crap!

 

Yeah. Most places don't touch them b/c it's harder to mount and they have to be more careful. The place I went to for this set had to charge a few bucks extra per tire to mount the 45 series profile.

I think Nexen is either made by or just distributed by Michelin. But, Michelins are made bigger than other brands of the same size too. Maybe Michelin had something to do with the design of the Nexens.

Well, my Nexens are still running strong. They have great grip still and I love the ride. I have 235/45/17. Im hoping Tire Man in Austin still has these the next time I get tires.

 

How many miles do you have on them now? How's your driving style around turns? Do you spin them much?

But I'm amazed how well mine are holding up to the abuse I put them through! My Falken 512s were already cracked up by 12K miles and got hard and lost all traction that it had before.

 

Went to edgeracing and the N3000s are sold out, theres another tire, the N7000 for around the same price, tad cheaper actually, with similar specs...

Is this the replacement? That price is a BARGAIN and with all the positive reviews im considering this tire as my next one...

 

I have had my tires for little over a year. I have been through every possible obsticle imagine and they are real good. Pot holes, flooded roads going 40 mph but not snow and these tires really caught my attention. I am corrently rolling on 245/35/20 and never had a problem with them. They stick to the road pretty good to, not sure abotu the track though.

 

N7000 is not a replacement. It's the all-season [u]hp tire in the product line.

 

I've researched the n3000 and most sites list these as a summer tire while a few have stated that they are all seasonal and great in the snow. Judging from the tread pattern I'm guessing that these are definately for the summer.

Has anyone used these year round and if so how are they in winter months. I live in New England and can't take chances as far as rubbas are concerned....

Id like to know to. I live in New England to and the tread looks mighty summer to me. But has anyone trekked in the snow with them? Love the tread look so would def like to buy them if perform well in the winter season.

 

The N3000's are strictly a summer tire. If they are ever going to touch snow, I'm sure it will be a problem!

 

Thanks for the feed back, it's too bad b/c alot of places around here that sell both wheels and tires offer packages that usually include the n3000 as the tire.

 

Damn, i like the tread design. i wish we didnt need to worry about snow. i know i just will be a hermit in the winter and then i can get summer tires. hehehehe

 

Hey guys, sorry to jump in this old thread, but I felt it was my duty to do so. I read most of this thread when shopping for tires for my 2008 Honda Accord. (I know its a Nissan Forum so don't shoot me!) I got the N3000s and WOW! after about 10k miles, I am impressed. Great traction, in dry weather, and damn good traction in wet weather as well. Went for a run in the Canyons after a light rain, and the tires held up extremely well. I don't think that any other tire would have performed better. There may be tires that are stickier, but for the price, Nexen 3000s are incredible. Took them up to the snow, and I learned a lesson. DON'T. But I live in southern cali, so its not a real issue. But for summer weather, there is no better tire for the price. Quite, grips well at high speeds, and handles like a champ through winding canyon roads.

Don't let the fact that I drive a Honda fool ya. This thread helped me to decide to buy the tires, so I'm just reporting back so that my experience could help others.
