I need to replace two worn ones but don't want to spend an arm and a leg if I can help it.

Buy Fuzion HR-1 or ZR-1. They are made by Bridgestone and have the same construction features as the high-end Potenzas (like the RE950) for about 1/2 the cost.

I had a set of four HR-1's installed for $300 total! They handle super in the rain...no hydroplaning whatsoever!

In 225/50/17... Toyo Proxes TPT tires aren't bad.

I think Kumho makes the ASX in 225/50/17 now too.

That's an incredible price. I may give those a glance and get the set of all four for that price. Where did you get them from?

Tires Plus. I know one of the managers, so your price may be a little higher than what he charged me.
