Who has Kumho Ecsta ASX?

I was looking around and reading reviews and there were some mixed ones. For the price it seems these are good, but are they up to par with cornereing and tread life? UTQG rating is 420 on these.

I currently have dunlop sp sport a2 which are nice for performance, but are dead now after a year. Much less than the 50,000 miles promised by tread rating. The UTQG rating was 460 on these, but are down to the tread bar.

I was looking at the yokohama avid 4hs cuz my dad got them on his car and they seem pretty nice. BUT I also read some mixed (negative) reviews about these also. UTQG on these is 500. I heard that they have soft side walls though, which is bad for cornering. Bubles formed.....

Anyone got opinions about these tires or maybe a suggestion about some all weather perdformance tires that will last me longer than a year concidering my spirited dribing habits.

I read many of the tire rack reviews, and still cant make up my mind, it feels like a gamble. Your advice is appreciated.

Thanks to all.

How many miles have you put on them? How much wear?

How do they do in rain? Are they better or worse than other tires you have used?

I just got these also, and performance seems pretty good.
i was just in your shoes and i had kumho ecsta supra's before this one and this tire weirdly has better life and supposed to handle better than the ecsta supra's i had.
i did not know what to do, but i talked to one of the kumho representatives and they told me that these asx did out perform the supra's bye a bunch, so i thought i'd go and try it out.

I took my car 50mph at a huge empty street, 90 degrees and did not lose it at all,(maybe its my Tein coilovers?) but i do notice sometimes that the sidewall is a little too flexible, which i do not like, but overall....i think it is a good tire for its price. It offers optimal handling and tread life.
.
compared to your dunlop, they might not feel as sticky to the ground, but i have come to notice that even though the sidewall flexes a bit and makes the car feel like its going to lose control at any time, it doesn't, but i dont like that feeling.
Good luck on choosing your tires.

I've had them for about 10k miles. I'm very happy with them. They are smoother and quieter than the ecsta supra 712s I had before. They seem to grip just as well as the 712s though, so that's good.

I recommend them, definitely.
