Help with Motegi center caps for the rear!

I have Motegi DP6 rims on but the damned rear gold hub dust cap is too large for the center caps that came with the rims... the front caps fit fine because there is no hup cap in the way...

I called Motegi and the morons said they would send me different caps that would fit on rear, but of course, they didnt fit.

I did a search and I found pics of some of you guys that have MR7s on with caps on the rears so I was wondering if I could get a part number or something.

I have thought of removing the dust cap (since it contains no grease like on some other cars), but I am afraid that some dirt might penetrate into the sealed rear bearing unit.

Thanks for any help

Do yourself a favor and leave the wheel caps off. That way there's less chance of people knowing you're rolling on Motegi.

haha...

I'm in a similar situation. I've chosen to simply leave the caps off all 4 wheels in the meantime. Anyone know a REAL way to work around this nasty problem? As you suggested, removing the dust caps doesn't sound like a good idea.

I have 2 ideas:

1) Pound the rear dust caps with a hammer until they fit. Ugly but cheap and it WILL work.

2) Use H&R wheel spacers on the rear.

If you look at the pics when wheel spacers are actually on, the rear dust cap is totally recessed. However, will the center bore of the rim be able to fit with those wheel spacers on?
