The Toyos are on...

Finally! After having my rims sit for months, my tires came. All were put on yesterday. So far so good. The tire noise is a little more than with the Goodyear RSA's I had on my stock five spokes. I can't wait to give them a good test as far as handling. Although they are mounted to my Murano wheels and look great, my suspension is stock and, of course, rides high. Still, I can tolerate it. As the Torch from The Fantastic Four would say, "Flame on!" as far as the suspension goes. I still like the look and ride.

You've got to excuse the dirty car, but here are some pix. As said before, a drop would look much better, but it isn't in the budget for now. The wheels are brand new Nissan Muranos. The tires are 235/40/18 Toyo Proxes 4.

Looks great even without a drop. Do you have any subs in the trunk? I remember somebody else had murano rims on stock suspension and it looked absolutely hideous.

Nope, no subs, my man. Only an empty, stock ride. In person it really looks alright without a drop. I'm sure a drop would make it even nicer, though. But, I'm happy with the look. Thx 4x4.

Actually, according to Digital Texan the tire/wheel combo is about a pound less than my stock five spokes with tires. Plus the Toyos are rather light tires. I haven't noticed much drag running the much bigger wheel/tire combo.

The Toyos are just unreal tires! The grip is unreal and they ride fairly smoothly even at 18" and 40 profiles. They do, run a little louder than the Goodyear RSA's I have on my five spokes, but the tread is way more aggressive.
