Toyos kick ***...
I've had my Murano rims with the 235/40/18 Proxes 4's on now for about a month, maybe a little less. I'm loving them! The Toyos are excellent in all areas...grip, comfort, noise, etc. They are just a bit noisier than the Goodyear RSA's I had before my new rims, but that is to be expected considering the aggressiveness of the tread. I highly recommend these to anyone. One thing I absolutely will not cheap out on is tires. They have to carry my family. The tires are our only contact with the road, so they had better be good. I suggest busting the piggy bank a little further when considering tires, fellas. Just my $.02.

I agree 100%. I've very much enjoyed my Proxes4 for daily driving in all conditions. I don't let them on the autocross course, but for even the most aggressive street driving, they are great. The low cost, excellent traction, low noise, and comfortable ride (even with 18's) are all plusses, and I would rate it ABOVE the Pilot A/S in all categories except snow traction...plus it's about 1/2 the cost.
I will add that mine have been on for almost 10,000 miles now, and they have hardly worn AT ALL....and I corner like a madman. By 10K my RSA's, Falken 512's, and Pilots all had noticeable wear, for comparison's sake.

I've put those on my wife's 96 max and I LOVE THEM!! They are absolutely amazing. I'm even considering puting them on my sentra. But it's a tossup between them an the BF-Goodrich g-sport tires.

I had forgotten to mention the handling/grip at speed. I don't do it often, but these tires can really be pushed into corners and on/off ramps at a good clip without ever even squealing. I'm glad to hear others with such good experiences also. Thanks.

I am glad to hear good things about the Proxes 4. I have the Proxes FZ4 as my summer tires and I really like them.
I agree with what you say about cheaping out on tires. However, I think it's funny how so many people will spend thousands on good tires and wheels that are mostly dry weather oriented. I prefer to have tires fully appropriate for all of the seasons. My Maxima has three sets of tires -- one set for summer (dry), one for rain (fall and spring) and a set of studded snow tires for the winter. I have seen far too many accidents due to people in front wheel or 4 wheel drive vehicles not being able to stop well or lose control on hills with their "all season" tires. Too many people try to "get by" on their all seasons through really bad weather. Sure, you may be able to get around OK, but once you see the difference in using a dedicated snow tire, you will wonder why you ever tried it. Even my Infiniti QX4 has a set of studded snow tires mounted on an extra set of rims.

Duly noted, my Northern brother. The Proxes 4's are all season, however, I will put the stockers back on for winter complete with the Hankook snows up front. In bad winter conditions you can't beat true snow tires whether front or rear wheel drive.

My proxes will be arriving in the next few days. Heard a lot of great things about them, and with being on the cheaper side is great. Can't wait to get them on. For the winter i'm sticking with my continental conti extreme contacts. They worked wonders for me last year.

and today i was talking to my boss at discount tire. i asked him what he thought of toyo's. I told him i wanted a light weight tire and he was like "there isnt a such thing". He said toyo's are junk and they wear like a cheese graider graides cheese (spelling?). Im not one to believe the first thing i hear which is why i was surprised he thought so little of them since everyone on here is ecstatic about them. I didnt say "proxes 4", just "toyo". But anyway...just thought i'd share this. i live in houston, which is dry weather for the most part all year fyi.
okay i donno where im goin with this.
im still considering them though, due to everyones high opinion of them

i'll check, because he'll probably tease me when i buy them haha. The way he blew off "toyos" so blantantly made me feel a little bit like he was just talking out of his ***. i'll get my other manager's opinion on them.
not that their opinions are going to change the satisfaction of current owners of them.

From what it sounds like, Toyo may have got it right with the 4's. As a result, they're still on my list too. Let us know what your boss thinks about them. Dollars to donuts, he doesn't know much about them either, and is giving you opinions based on past experiences with their other tires.

After asking about the Proxes 4's, they said they didn't really know much about them and couldn't give me an honest opinion on them.

awesome tires
I got these put on my max about 3 months / 5k miles ago and have been very happy with them (toyo proxey 4. Did a few passes at the 1/4 track with them, and I drive 90-120 miles a day to and from work. I have driven through some insane rain and these tires just would not slip. And in dry/good conditions grip very well. I will be replacing these proxey 4's with a new set of proxey 4's
