Can you put 245/45/18 on a 5th gen?

I am riding on stock suspension. I was told by tirerack to run 235/45/18. but i was thinking that 245/45/18 would provide a better ride and meatier look to the rims. I know, I know, alot of people are running 245/40/18 but from the tire calculator the sidewall is no so much. plus, so say dont run 245/40/18 on a 8" rim.

Feedback would be great.... and if any pics/ links of other who run 245/45/18 or 235/45/18 and input... thanks

Also, I was thinking, which is kinda far fetched, but maybe running 225/45/18 ? like the altima se-r ... hmm.

I currently have 235/40/18 kuhmos that need to be replaced and the ride is hard/harsh as heck.

thanks.
Anthony

did you see the Sticky directly above your post?
anyway, shouldn't you ask if the tire fits your wheel? I know 5th gens w/ 6th gen wheels, so the tire will fit your car, but more importantly your wheel??? and what the Sticky reveals.

245/45/18

Shouldn't be a problem if you're on stock suspension. It also depends on the width and offset of course. I think you said your rims were 8" wide, right? I had G35C's on my 5th gen with the stock Michellin 245/45/18. It looked a little too beefy for me, plus I had rubbing issues with my Tein S-Tech drop. Personally, I would go for a 235/40/18. If you're gonna stick with stock suspension, the 245/45/18 would be okay.

On my 98 I have the 225/45-18 size on a 8" rim with 45mm offset.
It is lowered about 1.5" also.

Zero fit problems, looks great. Wish I had a picture for you, but I don't.

I am running 245/45/18 with 8.5' rim in the rear with stock suspension, a little rubbing if i go over a big bump or holes, other than that it's fine.
