19" or 20" Chrome Rims?
Hey guys, I kNOw I KNOW, You will all be like "stick with 18 or 17" rims" but these look too small for me.
Not trying to offend anyone.
I am askin for advice these people that have 19s or 20s, and drive on rough roads like chicago.
What kind of tires can i put on 19"s so they will not rub, also what kind of tires can i put on 20"s so they will not rub.
Please help, and or post your rim pix on your car. thanks!

They will slow you down tremendously. Get 17's .. maybe 18's.
As far as what "kind" of tire.. Many brands sell those sizes.
You need to do more research on wheel/tire combo and their relation to total diameter with relation to side-wall size reading. Check out the wheel/tire section of the forum, do some calculations or let the little maita tire calculator work for you and figure out what sizes will put you closest to stock.
I have had 17's and 18's on my 4th gen, and the 18's aren't too fun on rough roads, and I live in a small town with decent roads, not the greater Chicagoland area, so good luck with that also.
Any aftermarket wheel/tire set up with the correct tire size to as close to stock will still leave you with a
wheel gap, and will need lowering, and that too will hurt your ride comfort.
All this is IMO ...

i'm not quite sure about what you mean by rough roads. And yes, i suggest going no bigger than 18, and if you REALLY want to, 19 is the max. Number one reason is that you are most likely to dent a rim with it being 19 or 20. Different cars have different wheel diameters. 18's are ok for the maxima's since they have a pretty good wheel diameter therefor allow thicker sidewalls for tires for 18's so that the chance of the rim being bent is less. However, when you decide to put 19's or 20's on, you are playing with fire. If you are driving a lot with those rims on, you need a lot of money. Tires are ridicously expensive and you will most likely need to fix a rim or two. A lot of people can afford the H2, however, they cannot afford the gas. I can afford a Mercedes right now, but i won't be able to afford the insurance. Hence, getting 19's or 20's is not all just about looks, you will decrease your acceleration, top speed, and gas mileage. Plus, chrome are pretty heavy, an 20's in chrome will be even heavier. by all means, do what you would like, but since you're asking for people's opinion, i'd suggest getting 18's that look like 19's. and yes, that is possible

my boy just bought some 19" tsw stings for his 5th gen and there is minimal rubbing when he turns hard. hes runnin on 245/40/19's i believe. any way he doesnt have a drop or anything and i don't think he needs one. it would look better, but i think its fine with the stock set up. get the chrome and get 19s dont listen to all these guys who dislike bigger wheels and chrome- since you did ask the opinion of those "that have 19s or 20s"
i've seen maximas with 20s, no 4th gens, but the 5th gens look perfectly fine with 20s but i still think the 19s suit the car better+ plus you can wrap that much more rubber on them which helps. the next problem is, there are not as many companies that manufacture 19" wheels. i know there are a lot, but most likely the one you want isnt made in that size which is my problem over and over again and is why i still have no rims on my car

I honestly think maxima's look best slammed on 17s or 18s wich is a more
meaner simpler look but at the same time doesnt sacrifce performance..
If I had to choose Id say stick with the 19s.. Thats the biggest Id go on a
4th gen. Thats more of a Show look wich I think if done right it can look sick.
I chose not to do this cause of the ruff roads in AUstin so now Im even thinking
bout getting some 17 inch rota subzeros for daily driveing.. Either way try to drop
your car first cause then it will look like a boat.. Good luck.

you might not be able to drop it if its going to be rubbing already. dropping it will only make it rub even worse. That is why a lot of people go with 18's and have it dropped. I have 18's n already have 2 dents on my rim. One on the right front n one on the right back. i'm so low to the ground that i can't go over speed bumps right now and i have no rubbing issues. but i will raise it higher later on.
