Am I the only one to catch that you said 245/45 will fit but 245/45 wont?

Fender Rolling
02theMax,
Those wheels look good! So you never experience any rubbing? I just put on the 18 Coupe wheels on my 2K2 Max and it rubs when I hit bumps...I have 245 all around and it's the rear ones that rub.
I'm thinking of rentiing the fender lip rolling tool and rolling the fender but I was wondering if any one on this forum know if there are any issues with doing this? The website where I'm going to rent from suggested research my car first. I don't see any problems with doing this especially in the rear.

Hey thanks AllblackSE, yes the rears do rub a little also on big dips and I have stock suspension in the back (dropped the front only). I don't want to roll the fenders though, I might just buy some new rubber for the rear and sell the the other ones to help offset the cost. Any pics of your car?

This string was a great help when I was looking for G35 rims, so I throught I would share my results. I got a slightly used set of 2005 G35 Sedan 7 spoke 17" wheels and tires for $100 each. There is a tiny bit of rubbing when I turn the wheel all the way to one extreme or the other, but maybe my alignment is a bit off. I love the look, worth every penny (I needed new tires anyway). Thanks for posting all the great info guys!

from the sounds of it, 235/40/18 is the size to go for our model Max. I have 245/40/18 and they sightly rub.
On a side note I rented a Fender Rolling Tool from some guy named Peter at www.85xr.com. I sent him the $50 rental fee through Paypal. I tried to send him an eMail about the tracking number and got a delivery failure on my eMail. I got this message when trying to send the eMail at my work. I sent a few eMail through my yahoo account and I didn't get delivery failure msgs. But he still hasn't replied. I guess I should wait until after the weekend to see if he replies. If not I'm going to dispute the Paypal Payment. Just wanted to point this out to anyone that was thinking of renting from this guy.

Center cap question
Hi,
I went through the thread but would like some help and clarification.
Just wondering which center caps would fit coupe 18" oem wheels on a 4th gen maxima? Which center caps fit without modification? If modification is required, what needs to be done.
Thanks in advance.
Stephen

Rolling Fenders
Well I did eventually get the Fender Lip Rolling Tool from Peter at www.85xr.com. The tool work good and I was able to do both my rear fenders in about an hour and a half. If anyone does this make sure you take the advice of using the heat gun to keep the paint warm/hot so that it won't crack. I have a section in one of my fender where the paint is cracked. Doesn't look too bad.

i got mine back in 2004 in the summer.
i loved the 245/45/18 in the rear because it looked meaner and thicker..
i am on h&R and illuminas..only issue was they rubbed on dips and bump
Irish thanks for your input about those toyo proxes..i love them!!! 235.40.18
i will be trying to other tire sizes when time comes
225.45.18 and 245.40 18...I used the miata tire calculator seems like 225.45.18 would be the closest to stock diameter...
i also wondered about those g35 sedan rims by RAYS..if they are same size all around that might be my new set of rims...but we shall see...
the dust cap for the rears must be hammered in.. i got my center caps off a 2000 gle...they are closest in color and shine to the g35's...anyways..i love these rims!!..

G35 rims
Just got my rims a couple of days ago 18" g35c and was reading threw the thread and no one really answered this one. Three of the rims are in very good condition but one has a little road rash-curb checking on it. Any suggestions about repair besides the obvious of resurfacing the rim. Just trying to see if there are any DIY options out there thanx.

that's the "ghetto" way of doing things....otherwise, shops can do a more professional job.

Check this out: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/ext43.shtml
I am going to try it when I get some time on a G35 18" wheel that I have. When I do I will post lots of pics but it may be a few weeks.

All that said, I think they are cool little cars - my wife almost bought one a couple years ago....fun to drive, fun to race (I'm sure), and they do look nice.......I just wish they were called a "2-series BMW" or something, which would be more appropriate.
Park, did I mention your MAXIMA looks great?

Well I joined the club yesterday and had some G35 18's put on. They look great but I can't get the rear Infiniti center caps to go on. I hammered the dust cap in some but it seams to me like the center caps are hitting the dust cap all around the edges and not in the center? I did not take the wheel off but am I doing anything wrong? I am afraid to hammer it too much.

hey will the stock sizes of G35 fit on the max?
225.45.18 in front and 245.45.18 in back
i hear 225/45/18 is fine but 245/45/18 may rub....i have h tech...if back rubbing is higher risk, should i put 245/45/18 in the front?

Hi,
I am talking to a guy with 7-spoke 17x7s off of a 05 G35 sedan (identical to the popular 18x8s off the coupe, but smaller). He says they have a 45mm offset. I know the coupe version wheels (18s) have a 30mm offset. Will this be a problem?
Thanks!
