I was gonna go for the Avons but after finding out that they weight 30lbs a tire and that they dont have great dry grip I decided the toyo proxes 4 were better in every way

Ordered from Edgeracing.com - delivered in three days - installed today, and they ride MUCH better than the worn pilot sports I had on....Haven't had a chance to try them out in all conditions yet, but they are much quiter, smoother, and great dry grip.

Usually 45k-50k miles (assuming you have 225/50/17)

Yokohama Avid V4S... all four with discount tire warrany, mounted, balances for $580 out the door. 500 trade wear rating, super quiet, improved ride... I cant believe the difference.

Tires...

Same here, Yokohama Avid V4s 17" 50 series installed in Dec after 40k miles on Potenzas. No regrets but best $ I could do in Canada (Ontario) was $212 cdn each installed/balanced +15% taxes
