17" G35 tire size?

So I have a set of 17" G35 wheels. The tire sizes are 235/50 and 225/50. The rears look really nice with the larger tire but I've read you can't use the 235/50 on the front due to tire rub(rim size also). What do you guys think about 225/55 up front? I know some guys are saying go 235/45 all around but that brings all the sidewalls down and I don't know that I'm digging the rubberband look on the front wheel already.
I guess I'm asking you guysto talk me out of the 225/55s. Worst case I'll just replace the fronts with stock size. 235/45s have to little sidewall for me (I think).
Opinions/advise?

Thanks,
James

235/45s have almost the same sidewall as the 225/50s. If I were you I'd def do the 235/45s no question. The 225/55's are way too big, so are the 235/50s (the 225/55s look like a winter tire).

Maybe I just like the way they fill the fender gap. I was planning on lowering, but after installing these wheels I like the look of the rear, but the front just looks to small with the tiny little tire, and the 235/45 is shorter(maybe not much, but already small).
I'll have look around for some photos to decide.
Thanks for the input.

you can actually use the 225/50 front and 235/50 rear if you want. Unless you're slammed, you shouldn't have rubbing issues. I use those sizes for snow tires (came off a 350z)

Otherwise, if you want same 3 all around, go with 235/45

by the way, there is an entire thread devoted to G35 wheels....look at the top of this section in the stickies - it's the first one.

Don't worry I've scoured it checking with the recent posts and all. Actually the pics of the 5th gen with the 235/45s made me think I wanted a taller tire.
Maybe I'm just getting old!

Haha, I wouldn't go as far as to say that you're getting old. It's just a personal preference for you to have a bigger tire. I'm already thinking of selling the Max for a G35 sedan and I'm 28.

After looking around a bit the pics I thought were 235/45 were 225/45 so maybe I can do the 235/45. Also I sat and stared at the Max for a bit and I think part of the small looking front wheel/tire is the front tires are worn out, no edge left, just center tread.

Yeah that could be part of the reason you thought the 235/45s were too small. Hope you make the right choice for yourself.
