Nitto 450 Extreme Performance Tires

Anyone have any experience with these tires? I have a chance to pick up a lightly used set. The reviews on the Net seem about 50/50 both ways.... (225/50/17)
Thanks

Do yourself a favor and forget you've even heard of these tires. The NT450 is garbage. I had a set of these on the '98 Maxima I used to have and I thought there was something wrong with the cars suspension the whole time I had them. Once I got rid of these tires, the problems went away.

For comparison the NT555 is a very good tire for the money.

I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for confirming my next tire decision.

OK, thanks. Usually you can kinda gauge how things are, but with this tire, people either love it or hate it, and there doesn't seem to be a definitive majority either way....

i bought 2 nt 450's from tires.com and i thought they were aiite.

better than the stock bridgsh!ts re92's but it wore out very fast. had them for about a year, and i'm guessing 15k miles on the tires, and i need new ones. most likely it's b/c i didn't really pay much attention to tire pressure as i should have, and also, i abused them with very sporty driving and high speed cornering a few times a week.

if anyone is interested i have 2 BRAND NEW NT 450's 225/50R17 94V that i'm willing to sell. i got them for free under warranty from tires.com.

Damn how accurate. I have some on my 03 maxima and it makes my car feel the same way. No matter how I try to regulate the psi in the tires the car just doesn't handle good. I was wondering the same thing if it was the tires causing my car to feel like this, question answered

I thought I had a hub going out once the tires were broken in a fair amount (due to the 450's noise.) I switched to NT555's and couldn't have been happier with how they gripped and how quiet they were. Just buy the NT555's, you'll really like them.

Note: if any product uses the word "Extreme" in its name, it is either leftover from the mid-90's (see Chevy S-10 Extreme, etc) or it has a gay name to cover for a sucky product.

YES. I have a crazy amount of noise. Sounds like a whining noise and it gets louder over different surfaces. These tires suck and make the car feel like crap

best performance tires i even owned are the falcon st-115's.. same price or cheaper that nitto.. better ride, better handleing, and a literaly silent tire.. if your considering nitto's, you will not be disappionted with the falcons. and just to add, those tires are the ONLY performance tire that NEVER gave me a problem. no matter how big a pothole i hit, i never had one bubble, break a seal, nothing.. if i were looking to get another set of performance tires they would be the only tires id buy. ive had the nitto's... the falcons are far better

The General Exclaim UHPs come highly recommended and are supposedly a VERY popular tire in Europe.

Other than this thread I've heard at least 5 mentions of the 450s and they all said stay the hell away. I just picked up a set of toyo T1Rs, not many tires come in 245/45-16

I'll sell you mine, they're damn near brand new. HOWEVER, I want you to know what you're getting. That is a very VERY STICKY tire, those things grip like a *****, but its also VERY noisy.

I never had issues w/ 555s but the 450s bubbled 3 times on me within 6 months. I got the most miles out of my 555s and 555s are definitely better tires than 450s
